This visa option allows student visa holders living in Australia an opportunity to extend their temporary stay for the purposes of gaining work experience and/or improving their English abilities. This visa allows the person and their family unit to work, live and study in Australia for 18 months to 4 years.
Many student visa holders living in Australia apply for this visa after graduating from their studies enabling them to explore opportunities in the work visa pathway.
There are two streams in this visa option –
- Graduate work stream
Applies to those nominating an occupation on the MLTSSL. You may hold a degree, diploma or relevant trade qualification. Have skill assessment in nominated occupation.
- Post study work stream
Allows an international student visa holder who recently graduated with a degree from an Australian institution to live, work or study in Australia.
