Skilled Visa

A person can migrate to Australia, on a temporary or permanent basis, on the basis of their skills.  You will need to nominate an occupation of the relevant skilled occupation list and have a suitable skill assessment from the relevant skill assessing authority to be eligible for this visa option. You will also need to satisfy the points test for this visa application.

Skilled Independent (subclass 189) visa

This visa allows an invited applicant to live and work anywhere in Australia.  To be eligible for this visa, your nominated occupation must be on the relevant skilled occupation list.

Skilled Sponsored (subclass 190) visa

This visa allows an invited applicant to live and work permanently in Australia.  You must be nominated by an Australian State or Territory government to be eligible for this visa application.  Your nominated occupation must be on the relevant skilled occupation list.

Skilled Designated areas (subclass 491) visa

This visa allows an invited applicant to live and work temporarily in Australia for up to 5 years.  You must be invited by a Designated area government or an eligible relative to enable this visa application.  Your nominated occupation must be on the relevant skilled occupation list.
